Hamilton wins the German Grand Prix, followed by Alonso and Webber, whilst Vettel cracks.
Webber had a poor start to the German Grand Prix, with his car appearing to lose revs just before the lights went out. Hamilton was able to take the lead, as the Ferraris sandwiched Vettel, causing him to loose places. Vettel struggled to improve throughout the race, eventually overtaking Massa in the pit lane on the last lap to finish a disappointing 4th.
At the front of the race, Webber was able to take the lead by pitting a few laps earlier than Hamilton and Alonso, and benefiting from fresher tyres. Poor out laps by Webber and Hamilton after the second round of pit stops, gave the lead to Alonso.
On the third and final stops Hamilton put on the prime tyres first and their extra performance at that stage of the race put him just behind Alonso when he came out of the pits. Hamilton then went around the outside of Alonso on the track to take the win.
Both Webber and Vettel were disappointed with the Red Bull pace. Undoubtedly cold temperatures were part of the issue, but it seems that Ferrari and McLaren have made up some speed on the Red Bulls.
