Vettel Not On Pole!

Saturday, 23 July 2011

For the first time in 2011, Sebastian Vettel did not qualify first in a Formula 1 week end. Mark Webber secures an impressive pole position for the German Grand Prix.

Lewes Hamilton came in a close second, after an "awesome" lap, splitting the Red Bulls.

Vettel only managed third allowing a rare contest for the first place on the grid.

It's refreshing to see a new face in pole position and Mark Webber (@AussieGrit) is a great guy. Germany was also the site of his first ever F1 win.

This looks to be an exciting race on Sunday, with Hamilton hungry for a win and Vettel being determined to get past both of them. Alonso is in the mix too behind Vettel. Button is down in 7th, and very disappointed with gap between the two McLarens at this time.

The weather forecast is for rain which always shakes things up, and might mean that Button comes through from 7th after all. You can be sure Kobayashi will give it a go, wet or dry.

Don't forget to support the home drivers, Sunday, at 1pm, BBC1 and BBC1HD.
