Zara Phillips and Mark Tindall to Marry this Weekend

Monday, 25 July 2011

The queen's grand daughter, 30, will marry the former Rugby World Cup winner, 32, this weekend.

They met during the 2003 Rugby World Cup, having been introduced by Prince Harry. they still enjoy spectating sporting events and are often seen hand in hand together.

Initially they tried to deny their romantic involvement, but in April 2009 they bought a £800,000 regency town house in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. In August that same year, Tindall admitted that he didn't think it was about whether they would get married, but when they would get married. The engagement was finally announced in December 2010.

Tindall claimed he won his girl through pure charm, but it seems their shared sporting passions have brought them closer. Zara won gold at the World Equestrian Games in Germany in 2006.

''He met me just after I'd found out my horse had injured himself, so I was quite low and vulnerable', 'Zara said, speaking of their relationship, "he understands the pressures and vice versa, which obviously helps, but it actually started from becoming very good friends.''

Zara and Mike are to be married in Edinburgh, at the Canongate Kirk on the Royal Mile on 30 July. It is to be a private event.
