Norway Killer's EDL Inspiration

The EDL were quick to deny their involvement with Norwegian monster, Anders Behring Breivik. However, their hate network has left a trail of evidence showing that not only had they had contact, he was inspired by them.
Immediately after his arrest, Anders Behring Breivik, was quick to assert that he was not acting alone and had contacts with other far right extremists both in Norway and across Europe. He stressed particularly his pride at his connections to the English Defence League.
The EDL responded very quickly to deny any contact with him. However, it has become very apparent that he was an avid follower of their campaign of hate. In particular he has claimed membership of "The Knights Templar", a group of racist activists named after the religious order of knights who guarded the route to the Middle East for crusaders. This obsession with European Christian heraldry of the crusading era, is continued in his handle and Internet screen name, "Sigurd Jorsalfare". Sigurd Jorsalfare was a 12th century King of Norway who led one of the Crusades. The crusades were papist wars for control of the middle east, which became a right of passage for the nobility of the age. Many atrocities were committed in their name, and the era underpinned hostility between the twin faiths of Islam and Christianity.
It is thought Brievik had lived in the UK for a time, and he attended an EDL demonstration, possibly in Bradford. He was very supportive of the EDL, writing, on the 9 March in their on-line forum, “Hello. To you all good English men and women, just wanted to say that you're a blessing to all in Europe, in these dark times all of Europe are looking to you in search of inspiration, courage and even hope that we might turn this evil trend with Islamification all across our continent. Well, just wanted to say keep up the good work it's good to see others that care about their country and heritage. All the best to you all Sigurd”.
He also expressed interest in attending further demonstrations in the UK, “I've seen with my own eyes what has happened to England, I was in Bradford some years ago, me and a friend walked down to the football stadium of Bradford, real "nice" neighbourhood, same thing in the suburbs of London. well thinking about taking a little trip over the sea and join you in a demo. would be nice with a Norwegian flag alongside with union jack or the English flag, that is if a Norwegian would be welcome of course?”, to which EDL members replied that he would be more than welcome. He replied, "I hoped so:) it's our common struggle against the Islamofacists”.
Further validation and encouragement followed: "Bravo Sigurd admire your views and courage. no surrender and welcome".
Before murdering 76 people, Breivik published a 1,500-page 'manifesto' identifying, former EDL member, Paul Ray as his mentor. Paul Ray is on the run in Malta, for inciting racial hatred though his blog entitled "Richard The Lionheart". He has previously been arrested returning from America where he had attempted to claim political asylum, because of his extreme views. It is Mr Ray who claims to lead the "Knights Templar" organisation of which Breivik claims to have been a member.
Breivik, has publicly praised Paul Ray, who he claims to have met in 2008, for his views, and has had contact with him, although Ray has claimed that he turned down his request to be friends on Facebook, because he "didn't like the look of him". Ray, has condemned the killings and objected to being described as Breivik's mentor, but concedes that his writings of hate may have inspired the massacre.
But his association with the far right was not limited to England, on the EDL's web site he confessed to involvement in the Norwegian Defence League. The NDL was a, 500 strong, group of far right racists, convicted Nazis and a group of exiled Russians known as the Slavic Union, which was banned in Russia. Their web site was closed down after a demo in Oslo, during which Darren Lee Marsh, a Tower Hamlets based EDL activist made a speech. The two organisations are linked, with the NDL Facebook page being administered by Jeff Marsh an EDL organiser and convicted football hooligan, who has been jailed for stabbing two Manchester United supporters.
In his conversations with the EDL he detailed his hated of Norwegian society and the ruling Norwegian Labour Party.
“The biggest problem in Norway is that there is no real free press, there is a left-wing angle on all the political topics so most people are going around like idiots. And of course with our Norwegian labour party being in power for most of the last 50 years dont help. But I think there is an awakening now, at least I hope so. Do some of you know the truth about what happened to the NDL, there was some claims that neo-Nazis had hijacked the organisation, but on the NDL site I cant really say I noticed anything like that. So may guess is that there were some kind of police pressure to stop the movement. Anyone here heard anything?”
After this last rant, he closed his Facebook site and ceased on-line activities, in the run up to his rampage.
The English Defence League have denied any "official contact" with Breivik.
